Info

J.Farnsworth is a graduate of New York's Parsons School of Design and currently lives in San Francisco, California. Working primarily in acrylics, he depicts Northern California landscapes, both rural and urban, painting outdoors whenever possible, creating studies and smaller pieces, saving studio time for larger interpretations and still life work.

"Painting on location increases one's awareness of the temperature, direction, and intensity of light and how that impacts what you can see. It also connects one not only with the land and the atmospheric elements, but the movement of the sun and the swift passage of time."

Other prominent Bay Area artists he's been lucky enough to learn from include Samantha Buller, Timothy Horn, Brent Jensen, Craig Nelson and Randall Sexton.

His work is owned by private collectors around the world. Recent shows include the Studio Gallery, San Francisco, The Healdsburg Center for the Arts, and the Land Trust Gallery, Half Moon Bay.

I'm always looking for constructive criticism.
